Coming off the Wu-Tang Clan’s most recent Legendary Weapons, Method Man is hitting the road with Curren$y, Big K.R.I.T. and crew of rappers on The Smoker’s Club tour from October 12th to November 22nd. No word yet on Method’s stalled project The Crystal Meth.

Forbes’ Magazine released their top-earners in hip hop list and it comes as little surprise that the man sitting on the throne is none other than Jay Z with a not shabby $37 million in earnings. His Watch the Throne partner Kanye West placed third with $16 million behind P. Diddy who pulled a cool $35 million. The big surprise on the list was a female, the lovely and talented Nicki Minaj who pulled in some of that Britney Spears money and placed 16th with $6.5 million. Minaj is the first female rapper to ever nab a spot on the list and beat out 50 Cent and Pitbull. You can peep the full list below:

Some of the first words about Mary J. Blige’s latest album have surfaced in the form of a video of Jermaine Dupri and Pharrell Williams drinking and clowning while driving around in a car in Miami while on break from producing the record. Interestingly they’re listening to Watch the Throne.

The legendary Sir Lucious Left Foot/Daddy Fat Sax, a.k.a. Big Boi was arrested last week on possession of illegal substances and paraphernalia after trying to smuggle ecstacy, MDMA powder and prescription-less Viagra into the Port of Miami. A drug dog allegedly sniffed the contraband out in his luggage. Aside from the $16,000 bond, the legal hassle and potential jail time, the unpleasantness of having his laundry smeared all over the press is probably just icing on an expensive cake.
The new Cee-Lo Green video for the latest track off his 2010 album The Lady Killer features none other than Family Matters star Steve Urkel, aka Jaleel White, in the role of Cee-Lo, breaking hearts, lip synching and dancing his way through the musical video, check it out:

With anticipation already high for Drake’s forthcoming debut Take Care, Drake managed to kick it up a notch by announcing that Stevie Wonder will be appearing on the album. According to Drake, Wonder came in to listen to Take Care and offer some advice and they began writing songs together. Originally Stevie was supposed to guest on two tracks but ended up working on six. Drake has been covering Wonder’s music on tour lately with Lil Wayne and Rick Ross.

Janelle Monae tweeted that she’ll be releasing an instrumental version of The ArchAndroid and that there is new music that “is/has been done,” which is good news for anyone who knows what this 25-year-old diva is capable of. Monae has said that the new album will be larger in scope and deal with bigger ideas than The ArchAndroid (which leaves one to wonder what Janelle thinks is bigger than a messianic android). Waiting with bated breath for this one…

Rihanna may have had the best year of all of us. Not only did she sell mad albums and perform all over the place, she also became the most popular woman on Facebook, the face of Vita Coco and the Tourism Ambassador for Barbados. Now Rihanna is nearly finished with the follow-up to the insanely popular Loud. She’s also set to appear in a documentary set in her native Barbados called Coming Home. Here’s to the freakin’ weekend Ri-Ri.

Snoop Dogg probably has a good idea of what kids in low income neighborhoods are going thorough. As a Crip gang member in high school, Snoop played football and was arrested shortly after graduation for narcotics possession and sentenced to six months in jail. Now Snoop is franchising the youth football league he started in California out to Chicago with the hopes that it will give kids living in high crime, at risk areas a positive outlet for their energy. Snoop’s California league consists of more than 3,000 members in eight chapters and incorporates coaches and parents into the fabric of its operations. The Chicago league will start smaller with 1,500 members in six chapters.
