With his debut album, the indie-rap Nostalgia Ultra, pending major label release, Ocean is doing what he does best, taking his PR into his own hands. New Mac Miller Video
Saturday, July 30th, 2011Wiz Khalifa protege Mac Miller dropped his latest video for the track Best Day Ever. The video starts with home footage of Mac rapping to The Sugarhill Gang’s Rapper’s Delight at about age four before segueing into the track which sounds like Mac is using Wiz’s engineers and miming Wiz’s upbeat, feel good positivity, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing:

Friday, July 29th, 2011Big Boi has emerged from the long shadow of Oukast nicely with his outstanding first solo album, Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty, still sounding like the best old skool-meets-new school hybrid album in a long time, even after a year of listening, and when he’s not busy producing the new Modest Mouse record he’s hard at work on his next album, the 17-song Daddy Fat Sax: Soul Funk Crusader, featuring the one and only Janelle Monae. He’s also involved in some very special product placement for Crown Royal Canadian whiskey, sponsors of this mini-documentary about Big Boi. Snoop Dogg Offers Baby-Inducing Services

After being banned from and then re-admitted into the UK, Snoop has decided to record some “baby-making” music for newlyweds Prince William and Kate Middleton so they’ll have something to knock boots to while making babies for the Queen. Snoop was reportedly asked by Prince William’s brother Haryto play at his brother’s stag party.
